About Visiting Artists

Visiting Artists curates works from artists' studios and presents them for sale directly on the site. They can be anything from highly finished pieces to the lesser known sketches, studies and one-offs that round out an artist’s practice.

Our Spotlight and video series will bring insight to the life and work of the artists, going behind the scenes into the artist's studio, on a work site or in other areas of the artist's life.

We are an artist-run project.

FAQs

So, how does this work?
Every week, we will be releasing a limited selection of works from a group of artists. These releases will be announced in our newsletter and available for purchase on the site. Works that do not sell at the end of that period will be taken down.

Once per month, we will also be offering a Spotlight presentation on the artist featured in our most recent video, with a number of their works per sale. These will be up for a little longer.

Can you explain a little bit about pricing? Why do some pieces seem more expensive than others?
Pricing art is complicated. Every artist here sets their own prices after factoring the size of the work, production costs, rarity, and gallery relationships, among other considerations.

I found something I really like. How do I know if I should buy it?

Don't overthink it. If you'd be excited to live with it, if there's room in your home and in your budget, buy it.

I bought a work. I am so excited! When will it arrive?
The works will be packed by us and shipped to collectors via USPS in 2-4 business days.

Will the works be framed?
Unless otherwise noted, all of our works are unframed. If you prefer, we can ship purchased works directly to a framer of your choice.

Can I wait to see the work in person before buying?
We can arrange for that. We are based in NYC. However, once a work is posted in the weekly sale, we can't put it on hold. We do have high quality photos on the site though, and ridiculously high quality images upon request.

Can I see other works that you may have that isn't posted this week?
If you are looking for a work by a specific artist, Contact Us. We don't list everything at the same time, but often have other works available.

What about returns? Can I send a work back if I don’t like it?
Unfortunately we cannot accept returns on artwork. If your work was damaged during shipping, please contact us.
