About the artist
Re McBride’s paintings explore nostalgic feelings of sensation and place. In cemeteries, softly glowing skies, twinkling Christmas lights, her work lyrically summons memories that are hard to put in words, like the sound of crunching snow, or colorful graffiti fleeting through a speeding train window. Re holds a BFA in Painting and Art History from Tyler School of Art and an MFA from Rutgers University. She paints at her kitchen table in Brooklyn, and her studio in Queens.
